In this life, you move through the world in a physical body. The body is a vessel for the spirit. While you stay in the physical vessel you will be given the opportunity to use your free will to make life choices. One such choice is to deliberately step into a state of conscious alertness. So, what is this conscious alertness and why will it help you?
1: You Recognize the Types of Thoughts that Zap Your Time.
To be conscious means you are awake and capable of interacting with the physical world and the people around you. What people don’t realize or give too much thought to is that there are various levels of conscious awareness. If you are performing tasks or chores “on automatic pilot,” your thoughts and focus are not on the task you are performing, but elsewhere. While you are conscious you might daydream about things in your life that can happen or that have already happened.
2: You Spend Less Time Daydreaming and More Time “Being” and “Doing.”
When you are experiencing automatic pilot mode or you are daydreaming, the immediate moments are transforming into the past. Minutes pass. Hours pass. Soon you are wasting so many precious moments in your life you can’t even count how much immediate time you’ve lost. Alertness is key to mindful awareness. When you are alert, you are cautious, Vigilant, and on top of your game. You are living and breathing in the moment, not escaping the present through various imaginative outlets your mind might present.
3: Conscious Alertness Allows You to Experience Life.
Conscious alertness is the pathway to a joy-filled life. Being alert is more than just being awake. It is more than being conscious and functioning. When you are alert you can turn the mind inward to focus the inner reality. You become more aware of your emotions, thoughts, and physical body. You bring your focus on the here and now.
4: You Stop Trying to Control Everything in Your Life.
Instead of evaluating a situation in your life, you experience it and see it. You don’t try to make judgements about anything, you merely experience the moment as it is right now. The past stays the past. You don’t obsess about the future, do not enter anything with pre-judgements or expectations. You simply accept the moment you are experiencing. One of the gifts of conscious alertness is the ability to let go of control. In turn, you release stress, tension, and anxiety.
5: You Free Your Mind From the Chains that Bind it to Old Dogma and Misconceptions.
With the ability to focus, alertness allows you to find the state of a conditioned mind and programmed thoughts turned into habits. When you are alert, you can be more vigilant about clearing these preprogrammed thoughts. You can clear you mind. It’s like starting anew. Instead of reacting to situations based on patterns you have formed in your thinking, you can enter a situation with a level head. You will then react to the situation at hand instead of allowing old emotional patterns getting in the way.
As you embrace the state of conscious alertness in your life, you will notice it transforms your entire existence. You will be able to sense and connect with others who embrace conscious alertness. Your ego will not control you or old you back any longer. You will begin to recognize the physical world for what it is: A place of isolation and illusion. An entrance into the state of alertness will introduce you to a never imagined tranquility and inner peace. You’ll be comfortable in the profound silence that emerges: You can still yourself in the peaceful silence you experience. It allows a connection with the Divine and source of all.
